St. Matthew Lutheran Church – New Church Campus

The St. Matthew Lutheran Church was established in 2000 and had grown significantly in its west Roseville location. It had been the congregation's plan to design and build a new permanent church campus once the congregation reached 300 members. When the membership reached this level in 2006, the church elders came to Synthesis Partners to begin assisting them in the planning of their new church campus in Rocklin. The project was designed for a two-phase development; the first phase includes the construction of the site development (parking, plazas, and landscaping) as well as the construction of the Fellowship Hall building, and the second future phase being the construction of the 500-seat Sanctuary building.

Sustainable design principles were a key factor in the design of this facility. Natural daylighting through north facing, and clerestory windows reduce the electrical demand on the artificial lighting systems. The facility was designed to reduce the ongoing maintenance costs of the facility through the use of concrete floors, cost saving cement plaster exterior finish, and asphalt composition roofing.

The development of this new church campus gives the congregation of St. Matthew Lutheran Church a dynamic place of worship, as well as an effective place to serve the social needs of the Rocklin community.
