Sheraton Grand - Accessibility Survey and Barrier Removal
The Sheraton Grand Sacramento management team in an effort to keep their facilities accessible to all guests and in accordance with current accessibility regulations, sought out Synthesis Partners to assist them in identifying out-of-compliance conditions and developing solutions to make this major Sacramento hotel accessible.
With the hotel management team, an excellent project management consultant, and a very talented general contractor team, ImageWorks set out to identify noncompliant conditions, which were summarized in an access survey report. Working with the team and using this report as a basis for developing design solutions, we assembled a set of construction documents for implementation of these changes.
The greatest challenge in accomplishing this scope of work was in developing and implementing a project schedule that would keep the hotel guests from experiencing any of the disruptions that a construction project can have on the operation of a hotel. Hotel guest room floors were closed in blocks, and construction in the public areas was completed when conventions and meetings were not scheduled. In the end, we were able to look back on a very successful project that achieved the goals of the Sheraton Grand Sacramento.
