Church of Glad Tidings – New Gymnasium and Sanctuary, Phase 2 of Master Plan
The new gymnasium and sanctuary at Glad Tidings is the next phase in a multi-phase expansion of the church campus. The gymnasium will also serve as a sanctuary until the church congregation grows into a future sanctuary building.
Utilizing a steel frame structure, the design team was able to achieve a large open interior to meet the needs of the community sports activities in the gymnasium, the multi-weekly church meetings, as well as the always popular Creative Light Theater productions, which often brings the community together for an evening of dining and live theater performances. This new gymnasium facility was designed to serve the community in multiple ways, and it is used every day of the week meeting the needs of the Yuba Sutter community.
This facility was built utilizing 90% volunteer labor with a talented team of trade contractors to lead the efforts. Volunteerism by the congregation at Glad Tidings built this facility and continues to serve the community where it resides.
